Labels for frozen tubes

Do you have frozen tubes or vials that you cannot or are not allowed to thaw, but still want to identify or re-identify correctly?
I-Label supplies lab labels designed to adhere to cold and (pre-)frozen surfaces.

We offer certain materials that are ideal when you want to relabel frozen samples, work with freeze/thaw cycles and temperature fluctuations, or want to avoid errors in (ultra)low storage. Our labels remain scannable and readable, despite condensation and friction.

Our range

(Re)labeling frozen tubes

For situations where your samples are already frozen and you still want to quickly add additional or corrected information without breaking your cold chain.

  • Adheres to cold and frozen surfaces
  • Ideal for relabeling: new barcode, batch, date, status
  • Reliable during freeze/thaw cycles and handling

Self-laminating labels

Small tubes have little adhesive surface area. Wrap-around labels solve this problem by creating more contact surface area and better “securing” around curves.

  • Fits snugly around small diameters
  • Extra firm grip thanks to increased contact surface
  • Overlap possible/recommended

Cryogenic storage & logistics

In cold storage, you not only want to label the tube correctly, but also be able to find, sort, and return it quickly and without error. Therefore, combine cap labels and storage labels (cryoboxes/rack/location).

  • Quick scan in racks
  • Interesting for workflows involving frequent removal/replacement

Custom labels

With custom labels, you decide how your label looks and performs. Consider length x width, material (paper or plastic), adhesive (permanent, removable, freezer-proof, chemical-resistant), printing (blank, 1 color, full color), and roll configuration (core, winding, diameter). This way, you get exactly what you need—for every application.

Labels for vials

Labels on rolls for LC/GC headspace, blood tubes, falcon tubes, EPT tubes, cryovials, and vials.
Designed to remain adhesive in cold conditions, condensation, cleaning, and solvents.

I-Label Vial Label Printer

Frequently asked questions about laboratory labels

What is the difference between direct thermal and thermal transfer?2026-02-26T13:25:07+01:00

Direct thermal prints black on thermal paper without a ribbon; suitable for short to medium life. Thermal transfer uses a ribbon (wax/wax-resin/resin) and is suitable for durable labels that must withstand temperature, friction and chemistry, among other things.

Which label material fits my application?2026-02-26T13:22:15+01:00

Define the requirements to determine your label material: environment (indoor/outdoor), temperature, chemistry, mechanical stress and desired lifetime. We match material + adhesive + ribbon with your requirements.

Can you run test prints with my samples?2026-02-26T13:20:57+01:00

Yes, we can run test prints with your samples. We test adhesion, contrast and scannability with your samples and recommend the correct label and ribbon combination.
