Which printing technique do you need?
Thermal transfer
Your label printer uses an ink ribbon to melt ink into the label. This produces very sharp barcodes/text and a wear-resistant print. Choose this option if you want the label information to remain legible for a long time or when printing on plastic labels.
Typical applications include warehouse labels, cable marking, laboratory labels, and serial number labels.
Direct thermal
These label printers do not use a print ribbon, but instead the print head heats thermal material that darkens in color. This is super fast and simple for labels on rolls that have a short lifespan. Here you are choosing simplicity, speed, and low cost per label.
Typical applications include cash register labels, temporary location labels, or internal logistics labels.
Inktjet color
An inkjet color printer prints full color on roll labels. Ideal for branding or color coding. You want to print on demand in professional colors. You can also combine this perfectly with partially pre-printed labels.
