Loftware Cloud Automation

Automate your entire printing process: from trigger to label, without any manual intervention.

Loftware Cloud Automation synchronizes business events with label production. A detected event (a trigger), such as a file change, a database record, an HTTP request, or a barcode scan, automatically initiates the entire printing process: data is retrieved, filtered, linked to the appropriate label template, and printed on the correct printer.
No operator required, no manual steps.

What is the difference between Cloud Designer and User Forms?

Cloud Designer is the design platform where administrators create and manage label templates. Loftware Forms guide an operator through the manual data entry process before printing. With Automation, no operator is needed in the printing process: a trigger in your system detects an event and starts everything automatically, completely without human intervention.

How does Loftware Automation work?

Step 1: The trigger detects an event

Automation continuously monitors the configured sources. As soon as a change is detected (a new file in a folder, a new record in a database, an incoming HTTP message, or a TCP/IP signal), the trigger is activated. Available trigger types include: file trigger, database trigger, HTTP trigger, TCP/IP trigger, web service trigger, cloud trigger… Each trigger can be configured with its own variables and a series of actions to be performed.

Step 2: Filtering and data extraction

As soon as the trigger receives data, filters are applied to extract the relevant values from that data. The Automation supports structured text files (such as CSV), XML files, JSON files, and unstructured data from legacy systems or print streams. The extracted values are stored in variables and linked to the corresponding fields on the label template, ready to be printed.

Step 3: Run actions and print

After data extraction, Automation executes the configured actions, from top to bottom, in the predefined order. A basic workflow includes “Open Label” and “Print Label,” but Automation offers more than 30 actions: forwarding data to external systems, providing feedback, creating files, and much more. The print job is automatically sent to the correct printer at the correct location, without manual confirmation.

Did you know…?

Loftware Cloud Automation integrates seamlessly with the most widely used ERP systems, such as SAP S/4Hana, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Oracle. For example, using the cloud trigger, these systems send an API call to Loftware Automation to initiate the printing process locally. This is done securely, without opening any ports in the firewall.

Automation centrally monitors triggers, statuses, and logs via the Automation Manager. This gives administrators a constant overview of what is being printed, when, on which printer, and with what data. This is essential for quality control and traceability in regulated environments.

The Automation supports batch processing: for example, if a CSV file contains five lines, five labels are automatically printed—one per extraction, in the correct order. This is ideal for production environments where large volumes need to be labeled consistently and quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions about Loftware Nicelabel and Cloud Automation

Can I try the Loftware Cloud Designer for free?2026-05-20T15:17:19+02:00

Yes, you can try Loftware Cloud Designer for free for 30 days with a trial version. You can get started right away—no installation, credit card, or upfront payment required. I-Label will set up the trial for you and guide you through the trial period so you can fully evaluate the software for your specific processes.

Do you provide custom label templates?2026-05-20T14:02:27+02:00

Yes. We create label templates for NiceLabel, Brady Workstation, or BarTender with your variables, barcodes, and corporate identity. Including validations where necessary.

What types of businesses is Loftware Nicelabel suitable for?2026-05-20T14:19:20+02:00

Loftware Nicelabel is suitable for both small businesses looking to design and print labels professionally and easily, and large enterprises that want to automatically produce thousands of labels per day from their ERP or WMS. Loftware Nicelabel scales with your needs: from a single Designer license to a fully automated enterprise environment. I-Label can advise you on which license best suits your situation.

What are Loftware User Forms, and what are they used for?2026-05-20T15:42:08+02:00

Loftware Forms are custom input screens that allow operators to print labels without accessing the underlying label template. You build the form using fixed fields, drop-down lists, database links, required fields, scanner input, and inline validation—all without writing code. The result: consistent data and reproducible printing. I-Label configures Loftware Forms to be fully tailored to your processes and in any language you desire.

What is Loftware Nicelabel?2026-05-20T13:56:30+02:00

Loftware Nicelabel is a professional label management platform that enables companies to design, manage, and print labels. From simple basic solutions to fully automated print workflows integrated with ERP, WMS, or LiMS systems. The software is available as a cloud-based solution and is exceptionally user-friendly. I-Label is an official Solutions Partner in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Can a Loftware form retrieve data from a database or ERP system?2026-05-20T15:49:42+02:00

Yes. Loftware Forms support database integrations: product data is automatically retrieved based on a scan or search query. Operators do not need to enter anything manually, which eliminates typing errors. If operators do need to enter something manually, output rules can be programmed. The integration works with ERP, WMS, and LIMS systems, as well as with Excel or CSV files. I-Label handles the entire data source integration as part of the Loftware implementation.

How many printers can I use with Loftware Cloud Designer?2026-05-20T15:09:13+02:00

The Loftware Cloud Designer uses printer seats: each physical or virtual printer you use consumes one printer seat. You start with 1 printer seat and can later expand to a maximum of 10 printers with the Cloud Designer license. If you need more printers, you can upgrade to a higher-tier Loftware Cloud license. I-Label can recommend the license that best suits your printing volume.

Can the labels be linked to our WMS?2026-05-20T14:01:01+02:00

Absolutely. Label software allows labels to be linked directly to your WMS or ERP. This ensures you always print the right label with the correct data at the right time, without manual input or errors.

How does a trigger work in Loftware Automation?2026-06-01T13:28:02+02:00

When a monitored event occurs, an action is executed. That monitored event is a trigger. Loftware Automation continuously monitors a configured source (a folder, a database table, a TCP/IP port, an HTTP endpoint, or a cloud trigger). As soon as a change is detected, the corresponding actions are executed. Some triggers listen passively, while others operate actively and, for example, poll at regular intervals.
