Fully automatic
printers

Full automation for label quality that is always right.

Complete automation with fully automatic label printers for label quality that is always correct.

Choose a fully automatic label printer when you are running high and consistent volumes, reproducibility is essential, and you want to completely relieve your operators. A fully automatic solution prints and applies the label (or processes tubes) without manual intervention, with fixed positions, consistent tension, and traceable data.

Ideal for laboratories, life sciences, hospitals, and (for the A8500) electronics/PCB manufacturing.

Our fully automatic label printers

Less downtime/rework, predictable cycle times, and fewer stoppages.

Brady A8500 –
PCB labelprinter-applicator

A compact print-and-apply for PCB labels (heat-resistant polyimide). The A8500 prints the micro label and then automatically and accurately places it in exactly the same position: a must in SMT/PCB lines.

Strong in:

  • Elektronics/SMT
  • Small labels
  • Inline integration (I/O)
  • Component labels

HTI Sign –
Labeling tubes

The X-TubeProcessor SIGN prints the label and applies it to tubes fully automatically. Feeding, orientation, and removal are automated—the operator simply fills a tray or magazine, creating a pre-analytical line with a fixed label position.

Strong in:

  • Sample-registration
  • Biobanks
  • Study set-ups
  • Reference labs

HTI Smart –
Modular vial processing

The X-TubeProcessor SMART is a modular platform: labeling, (de)capping, dispensing, pipetting, and sorting can all be performed in a single automated flow. You can customize the stations to suit your process and let the SMART automatically feed, label, and process tubes—with logging and connection to LiMS.

Strong in:

  • Clinical chemistry
  • Molecular biology
  • Routine-preanalytics
  • High daily volumes

This is how we start

Analysis & test labels

We test labels and ink on your tubes or parts.

Set-up & templates

Printers, peelers/applicators, forms, and data sources are coordinated.

Training and aftercare

Operators and administrators receive comprehensive training. We remain available for support, label/ribbon supplies, and optimizations.

Frequently asked questions about fully automatic printers

Which label material fits my application?2026-02-26T13:22:15+01:00

Define the requirements to determine your label material: environment (indoor/outdoor), temperature, chemistry, mechanical stress and desired lifetime. We match material + adhesive + ribbon with your requirements.

Which printer resolution do I need: 203 dpi, 300 dpi or 600 dpi?2026-02-26T13:24:23+01:00

203 dpi is often sufficient for logistics/receipts. 300 dpi is standard for small barcodes/text in the lab or for asset ID. 600 dpi is used for microtext or very small barcodes (e.g., on PCBs or in the lab).

Are Epson pigment prints water and chemical resistant?2026-02-26T13:20:28+01:00

Yes. Epson pigment prints in combination with appropriate media are prints water/chemical resistant; BS5609 for GHS/CLP is possible with the right combination.

Can I continue to use my existing ZPL templates?2026-02-26T13:23:08+01:00

Yes, many printers support ZPL. We will test your templates, folders, fonts and barcodes and adjust minor differences as needed.

What is the difference between direct thermal and thermal transfer?2026-02-26T13:25:07+01:00

Direct thermal prints black on thermal paper without a ribbon; suitable for short to medium life. Thermal transfer uses a ribbon (wax/wax-resin/resin) and is suitable for durable labels that must withstand temperature, friction and chemistry, among other things.

Can you run test prints with my samples?2026-02-26T13:20:57+01:00

Yes, we can run test prints with your samples. We test adhesion, contrast and scannability with your samples and recommend the correct label and ribbon combination.

Which connection do I choose for my label printer: USB, Ethernet or serial?2026-02-26T13:22:36+01:00

USB connection is convenient for local single users. Ethernet is ideal for sharing and integration. Serial/RS-232 is used for machine links or legacy.

Can a label printer work without a PC (stand-alone)?2026-02-26T13:24:54+01:00

Several models allow stand-alone printing with a USB keyboard or via pre-programmed forms on USB stick; otherwise, print via PC or network.
